Your live help person suggested I need a new motor AP5272116. My dryer simply stopped working. I went to start a load and nothing happened. The timer dial still clicks and counts down the minutes, I have power at each location within the wire harness where it should be. I even have power at the end of the wiring harness where it connects to the motor. Motor turns by hand perfectly. Is it possible that the little black module on the side of the motor where the wires connect went bad, and if so can I replace that part rather than the entire motor?
ANSWER Hello Jon. You need to test the thermal fuse LA-1053 on the side of the heater housing. If it is good, and the problem leads to the switch on the motor, you will have to replace the whole motor in the unit.
