how do i bench test this motor?...and does trying to run this motor with the blue jumper fry it?
ANSWER John, If you attach a test cord to the 1/4 inch thermal protector tab (grey), and the no. 5 terminal (red), and plug the power cord into a 120 VAC outlet, the motor should start and run. As long as the blue (#1 terminal) wire is attached to the red(#5) terminal wire It should not "fry" the motor, unless you have something miss wired. both the red and blue wires are neutral circuits, blue to the gas valve and red to the timer/power cord.
