The freezer fan appears not to be running is there anything else that could be the problem, fan blades spins freely.

ANSWER Hello Dave. Test for power to the fan motor. If there is none, replace the thermostat. If there is power, replace the fan motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
