After the washer finishes its cycle, the clothes are not very dry. When I look at the 2 belts on the bottom of the washer, they are both very loose. I don't know how tight the belts should be. The spring-loaded motor rides freely on its housing but the strength of the 2 springs don't seem strong enough to tighten the belts and I suspect the belts are slipping. (There seems to be a place for a third spring within the slide mechanism under the motor.) Should there be a third spring? The belts seem to be in good condition but the "V" sides are shiny. Could the belts be stretched out? Could my problem be solved by just buying 2 new belts?
ANSWER Hello Lloyd. The motor only uses 2 springs. The belts on this model are suppose to be loose. You will need to turn the pulley by hand and make sure the brake assembly 6-2011900 is releasing properly. Also listen for a roaring sound, if you hear one, you may have a bad tub bearing 6-2040130 6-2095720. If the bearing is bad, you will need both kits to do the repair. With the belt being shiny, you will need to replace the belts 12112425. Hope this helps.
