I see three slots for tension springs on the motor mount. There are only two springs. Should there be three springs? Is there any way to adjust belt tension as the mount seems to be back all the way and the belts are loose. Belts are 17 years old...so probably due.
ANSWER Carl, There are only two(2)motor tension springs used on the motor carriage 205000. The springs should be installed in the two outer positions of the carriage openings. When you remove both belts, you want to make sure the carriage and carriage rollers/slides move freely back and forth, you may have to lubricate the rollers and carriage with some silicone grease. Yes you are about due for a new set of belts 12112425 To adjust the belt tension, Install both belts on the pulleys, "pinch" the pump belt together in the center until they touch, and the motor does not move forward. To make adjustments if needed loosen the three drain pump mounting screws, slightly. slide the pump to the right, hold the motor in position and pinch the belt together, the pump should slide to the left, then tighten the pump screws, this process will adjust the belts to the proper tension per the factory specifications.
