We have a Maytag Quiet Series 300 dishwasher that fills with water but does not proceed to the wash cycle. After a few minutes the washer shuts off. Pressing the cancel button gets the water to drain out. The problem is sudden.

ANSWER Hello Heather. You will need to test and see if there is power going to the motor assembly. If so, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the motor assembly. We will need your model number to help you with part numbers. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
