When I press the paddle for ice from the dispenser I hear the usual hum, then nothing happens. My research leads me to the ice dispenser motor, W10184813. When trying to remove the motor, I take out the ice dispenser tray and assembly, I take out the two mounting screws, remove the spring etc. Then I am left with the hex nut, leading down into the motor housing. I cant seem to loosen that with a socket wrench. How do I get that off?
ANSWER Hello Chris,
The threads on the motor shaft are left handed. It also helps when removing it to "rap" the wrench handle to break it loose as it becomes very tight during its' normal operation.
