Hello, I have a Maytag MSD2269KEA01 side-by-Side refridgerator. The ice dispensing motor doesn't seem to be working. The ice is being made and filling up the bucket, but nothing happens when you press the ice dispensing button in the door. The water dispenser works fine. I took out the bucket and cleaned it so nothing is stuck in the bucket. Do you think the motor needs to be replaced? Is it an easy DIY job or do I need to call a professional? Thanks for your help.

ANSWER Hello Ash,
Before you try to replace the ice dispenser motor W10271509, check to make sure that the ice dispenser lever is making contact with switch. You can hear this when you push in on dispenser lever or visually check it by removing cover of dispenser. To remove cover, take out the drip tray for dispenser and use a standard screwdriver under the bottom part of cover and pry. It will pop one side out, then slide over to other side and do same. If the dispenser lever is making contact with switch then I would change motor.
