Thx you in advance, my problem is when the washer is in regular agitate cycle it only goes in one direction CCW and make a grinding noise to add. All other cycles work; fill, drain, spin, stop, work fine with np or noises. I looked over the dogs, brake , clutch, cam, pump, motor and even took apart the transmission. The transmission gears all look good but then again I am only looking for the obvious shavings, stripped gear. The only thing I found in the tranny was one of the plastic neutral park was a little eaten-on the tip.I did load up a U-Tube video 54sec of my problem, "Kitchen Aid Washer "Noise only during Agitate" but I can only find it if I search "noises Kitchen Aid".
ANSWER Hi. Does the motor hum when you reverse the direction? If it does then the timer and the wires, and the connections are well. Remove the belt to see and test the motor to see if it now turns the opposite direction. The motor centrifugal switch in the motor will not physically switch over to the ccw. direction. There is a disk in between the motor switch and the windings on the shaft. Use a screwdriver to momentarily insure the disk is solid kicked in towards the switch. Measure the windings of the motor to see if it is within values +/- 10 % and not individually shorted to the frame of the motor. The motor is part # 8529936. The centrifugal switch is part # 8529896. Use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Use the wiring diagram behind the timer. Thank You.
