Cycles are normal and the washer does as its suppose too....except when the water is all drained out and then it starts to spin.....as it builds up faster and faster you start to hear a winding noise and then eventually a loud knock like something is being hit as it spins around? But, what is odd is that if I hold the auger/agitator while it starts to spin then the noise goes away totally? And as I hold it (agitator/auger) still the clothes will spin all the water off as normal and finish the wash? What could it be.....motor works fine....checked the dog ears in auger.....???
Clutch or transmission ? Or what do you think......and if I get the part from you can I exchange as needed?
ANSWER Hello Mike. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the transmission is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.
