My whirlpool washer fills just fine, it will not agitate or drain. If you put it on spin, it will start to spin slowly for around 3 to 5 seconds and stop. I have checked the lid switch and it works. I've checked the drain hose and there is no blockages. I'm at a loss and would love to not have to buy a new washer if I can help it. Any ideas as to what the issue may be?
ANSWER Hello Tim. If the motor runs, but the unit does not agitate or spin, you need to check and see if the motor coupling 285753A is bad and needs to be replaced in the unit.
