It looks like the starter switch inside cannot be firmly attached with the outside control knob securely. The starter switch seems to be loose behind the control panel. Should not the starter switch be secured to firmly catch the control knob when installed? When I turn control knob to start, the control knob does not catch the starter switch inside but the compacting machine starts and makes loud noise. The compacting seems to work a little. When I turn the control knob to stop several times, the compacting stops. However, I can only open the compactor about 10% and the rest is stuck. Then by wiggling the control knob (start & stop few times) I was able to open the compactor. How do I repair this? Thanks.
ANSWER Hi. Use the On/Off Switch Kit part # 675382. Note all wire connections before you remove them so they are correctly installed. Open the drawer and remove the lower lt and rt screws. Lift up and out on the control panel to access the switch. Remove the drawer and super clean all debris in the ram screws and the entire unit. Remove power while cleaning. Use disposal deodorizer part # 9872166GA monthly to rid of orders. Thank you.
