The front surrounding edge of the tub is damaged and flaking material into the wash. The spin cycle now spins out of round and makes loud noises. Can you tell me what part or parts I should be replacing? I have a picture if that will help confirm. The material coming off is probably plastic pieces smashed but appears like fiberglass.
You will need a new front tub due to the damage. Along with the front tub you will need to determine whether it is the spinner assembly or the bearings that is causing the inner tub to rub against the front tub. One way to determine this is by pulling up on the inner tub and see if it is moving around. You may have to rotate it and lift in several places to determine movement. If there is movement then the tube bearings are more than likely bad and would require outer rear tub.
