In the oven, the top element works but the bottom one doesn't. Are both the same element and replaceable by removing the old one and snapping in a new one or does it have to be replaced by a repairperson?
ANSWER Hi Kathy. No they are not the same. Remove power. Remove door. Remove racks. Remove bake element mount screws. Pull unit out (if possible) and remove back. Remove element by pulling fwd and remove wire's. Replace element. Replace screws. Access the back area and repack the inner cavity insulation around the bake element probes so the heat does not escape the back and burn wires. Reassemble in reverse. Thank You.
