Lower Oven does not work. Will element be cause or other?
ANSWER Jim, Yes, a faulty bake element could make it seem like the oven is not working. The easiest way to confirm you have a bad element is with a multimeter. Turn the power off, remove the screws from the mounting plate in the back wall, slide the element and wires out far enough to attach the meter leads to the element terminals, turn the power on and make a bake selection, if you have 240 VAC across the element, and no heat, you have a bad element. If no voltage is present, you'll need to start looking for a broken wire, open fuse or bad control. Good Luck and Thanks
