If you remove the bake element, can you safely turn on the power to use the cook top? I had a fire and it burned out the bake element with no other damage.

ANSWER Hello Bonnie. No, the bake element wire have power to them, even with the oven not being turned on. You will need to replace the element 77001094. Hope this helps.
