When I replaced the ignitor, I was given a similar GE ignitor installed it and it seemed to work, but I found that it runs all the time even if the stove is turned off and it continues to heat up.

ANSWER Hello Jeff,
This has to be a bad gas valve 98014893. If it were anything else, the thermostats would have kicked it off. If the valve is stuck open, when the thermostats are open so the valve would normally close, it has to be still open.
