Maytag stove\oven. Oven will not light. Bottom ignitor glows red hot. Top ignitor broke and cold. Will that bad top ignitor stop the gas from trying to start on the bottom burner? 7432P106-60 Model501A Norton 0014
Thanks Gene
Gene for Model Number ?
ANSWER Hello Gene,
The top ignitor being faulty would not cause gas to not flow to bottom burner. You will want to check the amp draw on the lower ignitor. The amp draw should be between 3.2 and 3.6 amps. If not within range then the burner will not ignite and if it is within range then you would want to replace the oven safety valve.
