My freezer leaks water somewhere, and or it freezes the the walls inside the freezer with ice build up at the bottom of freezer and around the door of the ice maker. what causes this to happen. Behind the panel in the freezer ice built up you cant see it but it was pushing the tray out and the door would not shut. I defrosted the whole refrigerator to let all ice hidden or visible to melt. Should I plug it back in now or do I need to change a part like the regulator? What does the regulator look like and where can I find it in the panel?
ANSWER Hello Donna. You will need to check and see if the icemaker is overfilling. If so, you could have a bad water valve 61005626 or icemaker D7824706Q. Check and make sure the water valve is shutting off when the power going to it from the icemaker stops. If the water continues to run, you will need to replace the water valve. If the icemaker overflows and is sending power to the water valve, you will need to replace the icemaker. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
