Last year I replaced the control panel. Months ago the buttons started to only sometimes work. Now, the panel will not respond at all. I opened it up and saw that on the ribbon that connects the control panel to the control board had brown marks where the light colored wires are where the ribbon connects into the control panel. The connection to the control board seemed fine. Does this mean I need a new control panel? Any idea why this is happening?
You can try to clean the contacts on the ribbon harness with a contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol. If this does not resolve the issue then you would need to replace the control panel 6-917716.
