I have two questions. Is there something that would keep the door from slaming shut? On my old oven door I was able to leave it open about 4 inches? Also I have been getting an F2 code intermitenly, when I preheat the oven sometimes it will shut itself off. It will preheat for the 10 min then beeps twice and then the display is blank and the oven goes out. We have a gas range.
Georgina for Model Number sf216lxs1
ANSWER Georgina, The F2 error code indicates an issue with the control/keypad assembly W10112876 or W10312662 (you forgot the color code portion of your model number). We'll send you the diuagnostic codes. You may want to remove the rear cover off the back of the control console, and check the oven vent flue for heat leaks and proper alignment to the control console. Newer ranges no longer have a "broil stop" on the door hinges, especially a gas unit with a "live" flame. The "door pin" you mentioned, is actually a tool, they are used to lock the door hinge in position, so you can remove the door, when servicing the stove. Thanks
