How do you change from a 4 prong cord to a 3 prong cord?
Bill for Model Number Maytag AED4475TQ0
ANSWER Hello Bill. TJ5654 is the 3 wire cord for the unit. You will remove the old 4 wire cord from the dryer. Then when installing the 3 wire cord, the center wire needs to go on the center terminal of the terminal block. It does not matter which wire on the out side goes to which terminal on the terminal block, as long as they are not on the center and that each wire goes to a single post of the block. Both post are 120 volts.
