My washing machine started to have problems during the spin cycle. It shows an error indicating that the paddles cannot move and to redistribute the load. It will get through a cycle without clothes, and can run throught the diagnostic spin test properly (I only tried that with no clothes). Once a few clothes are in it, it will not work. Is this a clutch problem or could it be something else? If so, what clutch do I order? Serial number starts with 13 if that matters.
ANSWER Hello David,
This does in fact sound like the clutch 25001169 has failed. Be sure when you install it to start the bolt, rotate and push up on the clutch until you hear it drop in TWICE. The screw can be tightened before the clutch drops in, but it will not work. So, when you install it place it in position and start the bolt loosely. While pushing up on it, rotate the clutch and you will feel the internal workings mesh and drop in. When this happens, you need to do the exact thing again. At this time, while holding up on the clutch assembly, you can tighten the screw. It should torque to 96 inch lbs. Do not over torque it and not torquing it sufficiently will cause it to drop off. I tried to send you some additional information but, your e-mail has sent my e-mail to you to the junk folder. The pictorial information I was providing cannot be presented in this format so, if you want the information, you will have to re-post with an e-mail address that will not identify the e-mail as trash. The message from the junk @ mastermind-inc .com also said the e-mail was too big so the e-mail you list should be able to accomidate the 20M or so information package.
