I have a series 11 Neptune TL. It's been tripping the LL and UC codes. More the LL code, than UC. I pulled the clutch assembly out, and see that the bearings have a bit of rust. I cannot tell if they are frozen with rust, or if the bearings are not designed to actually spin at all. Are just the inner rollers supposed to move? I am hoping replacing the clutch assembly will resolve the issue, but realize there must be a minor leak if there is rust. What do you recommend?
ANSWER Jason, An ongoing issue with the "LL" and or "UC" codes on this washer is a very dependable indication of a worn or "sticky" clutch. So your deduction is very correct. The rust is not due to a leak, it's more likely due to age, moisture in the environment, and the compounds used to produce the components. Replacing the clutch assembly 12002211 should solve your issues.
