The dishwasher works fine with the exception of draining. There is no sound at all when it hits the drain cycle now. However it fills and washes normally. It was making a sound as if the drain motor could have been going out before it quit. Is the drain pump separate from the wash motor? Also is the motor bad, the timer or something else? Thank you!

Phillip for Model Number du800cwdb1

ANSWER Hello Phillip, The drain pump is not sold as a separate unit. You would have to purchase the pump and motor assembly W10247394. You can test to see if the motor is getting power at the point of drain cycle. If it is getting power but not turning then you would replace pump and motor. If there is no power then you would replace the control.

ANSWER Hello Phillip, This can be the fault of the timer or the pump motor windings. You need to pull the tech sheet and test the motor windings. If they test good, you should check for voltage to the motor during the drain cycle. If there is no voltage, the harness or the timer has failed. The motor circulates the water when it spins in one direction and drains when it spins the other.
