What's the purpose of the element? What does it mean when you turn on the dryer and it's saying sensing and afterwards it flashes F1?

ANSWER Hi Brown. The F-01 code is Primary Control Failure :F-01 flashes when there is a primary control failure. Replace the machine control electronics. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies . Control board part # 8563974. Thank You.
