Hi there. I have a toe panel water filter in my cabin. The frig never had a water line hooked up to it so I did it and water came pouring out of the filter. Turns out the filter looks like it had been dropped or something, cracked all over. I turned the water back off and removed the filter so I could order a new one. But I really don't even want a filter b/c I'm only using to make ice for a cooler. Do I even need to have a filter or do the two holes seal over without the filter installed? In other words, can I turn the water back on without a filter in place? Or will I flood my house? Now that I'm thinking about it they must seal or how would you ever change the filter without turning the water off.
ANSWER Gavin, some models use a filter bypass and some you just remove the filter. We'll need the appliance model number to verify the correct procedure for your appliance. Please verify this information and repost for further assistance. Thanks!
