Would the ice maker stopped making ice if the filter needs replaced?

ANSWER Hi Anna, the manufacturer recommends that your place the water filter every six months depending on use. The filter would affect more the dispense rather than the icemaker. If the icemaker is not getting any water you migth have a defective water valve W10270395. Hope this helps!
