I need to replace the ring balancer part number 3956205. I have the washer cabinet dismantled and now need to remove the old part from the drum. How do the clips holding it to the inside drum release?
I saw in another post that the new ring will come with clips.
ANSWER Jim, Once you have access to the spin basket(tub cover removed) It's easiest if you use a screwdriver to press in on the plastic retainer tabs, and lift up on the tub balance ring. It can be tricky, there's not a lot of play between the tub and ring, and the ring has a tendency to drop back down and the retainer locks back in.
