My Neptune dryer works fine on timed dry but on any automatic setting it turns off after 2 minutes. Can you help me determine whether the moisture sensor needs to be replaced?
ANSWER Hilo, A quick and easy check/repair : Unplug the power cord or remove power to the dryer. Open the dryer door using a 1/4 in socket or nut driver rmove the sensor bar mounting screws(2) and lift upi on the sensor bar assembly 33001809, make sure both wires are attached to the terminals, carefully disconnect the wires(don't let them fall back into the cabinet) and clean the bulkhead area and back side of the sensor with a solution of warm soapy water. Clean the top side of the sensor bar with rubbing alcohol, and reinstall the sensor. Put a small load of damp articles in the dryer and start the machine, if it runs longer than two(2) minutes, you'll be fine. Thanks
