At the start of the spin cycle the machine makes noise but then smooths out. The noise is not a constant whir or grind. It is more of a whoop, whoop noise as if sometihing was off-center or not seated properly.
ANSWER Kathryn, It doesn't sound like a Spanner nut issue, you may want to check and make sure there are no small articles stuck between or under the spin tub. With the type noise you described, and depending on usage the issue could be in the drive tube assembly 285792 or the center post assembly 285203. When the bearings are worn, thay can make a noise similar to your description.
