Why would my refrig stop cooling but the freezer works fine?
You will want to check to make sure that the rear wall of the freezer is not getting ice build up on it. If the coils behind the cover are impacted with ice then you have a defrost issue. You would want to check the continuity of the defrost heater and thermostat and if either does not have continuity then you would need to replace the part. If they both have continuity then you would need to replace the defrost control. You will also want to make sure that the evaporator fan motor is running and if not then it will need to be replaced. Also check the damper in the refrigerator compartment to make sure that it is open.
