My neighbor gave me this refrigerator when mine died. Hoping to fix it and make it work. Everything appears to work fine except that it does not get cold. I hear fans running inside and out. I don't hear the compressor run. Not sure where to start diagnosing. Previous owner suggested it needed a timer. Another said it's probably a compressor or freon line ...therefore, not worth repairing. I'd at least like to know for sure what the problem is before I part it out or sell for scrap metal...
ANSWER Hello Randyj. Test for power to the compressor. If there is power there, and it just clicks, it could be the start device.
