what would cause this to burn up while oven was in self clean mode. large diode in center of board {supressor} was cooked. Was thinking possibly temp. sensing probe or thermostat were not working properly and will test them if possible. Thanks

Craig for Model Number KGRC608LSSO

ANSWER Craig, The center component is actually a varsitor, it controls the amount of voltage into the control assembly(usually), and the two outside components are "line filters" which help to control possible "EMI" issues and keep the display and control from "scrambling" and malfunctions. Your issue is probably due to a voltage issue or "spike". You'r on the right track, yes check the thermostat(s) for proper operation, and the cooling fan run operation. Also check and insure there are no loose connections at the outlet or terminal block of the range. Good Luck and Thanks
