My Kitchen Aid microwave makes a clicking sound for about 5 seconds upon startup and also during the cook cycle intermittently. The unit will shut down completly after about 3 minutes and will start up again after pressing the start buttom. Sometimes I have to push the bottom of the door in and then press start to get it to come on again. I need to know if it is the door switch and/or the interlock cam? Thanks for your help. Bill
ANSWER Hello Bill. If the microwave works when you push in on the bottom of the door, the interlock 8205572, (the plastic part that the switches mount onto), is out of adjustment or broken. It is adjustable, but not by much, so if you try to adjust it and don't get enough adjustment to make the switches make contact, it may require replacement. Hope this helps!
