ANSWER Hello Mary,
You will want to check to make sure that the drain pump is not clogged and make sure that the bearings on drain pump have not gone out. Also check to make sure thrust bearing is releasing the brake by turning the large pulley on the bottom of unit. One way will turn without lifting and the other way should lift the brake off the stator and rotate.
