It appears that it is the door switch that has gone ... all connections are good, but no power coming to the control panel (door open or closed). How does the door switch work ... Is this something like a mercury switch dependent on the position ... horizontal or vertical?

ANSWER Hello Al. No, the door switch 99002207 has contact points inside the switch and when the button is pressed, it opens or closes the contact point. Hope this helps.
