I had the lower heat coil burn out in this oven and after changing it the lower coil will not get hot. My suspicions are that the Hi-heat sensor is out. it is the small device that is in line with the hot side of the coil wire. I had an appliance repair guy tell me that if you put the sensor in the freezer some times they will reset. Has anybody done this and how long did it take to reset?
ANSWER Hi Richard. For testing purposes only you can temporarily connect the two wires together. Use elect. tape for safety. Then call for the bake cycle just enough to see if the new element works now. Hi-limit switch part # 7403P316-60 will age and after sensing heated cavity temperatures especially in the clean high heat mode or a shorted element it will purposely open. This type does not reset. Some manufactures use a red push button reset. And even these fail. It is always best to replace them straight away. Thank You.
