The dryer starts when the timer is set and the door is closed without pushing the "push to start switch". Is the switch defective or shorted?
ANSWER Hello Brent. You need to test the switch and see if it reads closed without being pressed down. If so, replace the start switch on the unit. If not, replace the motor in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
