Dryer starts immediately when moved from "off" position without pushing the "push to start" button. I open and close the door to turn it off and on. The push to start switch tested OK at a replacement parts place. What do I need to replace to fix it???
ANSWER Lou, Based on your post information, if the start switch is working proper, and you have to open the door to stop the dryer, the motor switch neutral cicuit would have to be defective. You'll need to replace the motor assembly 279787 or check the white wire to the motor for a short to chassis ground.
