My maytag will wash fine but on the spin cycle after it drains it will not spin then smoke comes off motor. Belts are new.
Can you help. Is it a motor capacitor? Just a long shot?
ANSWER Jumper, Your washer wouldn't have a motor capacitor. Your most likely issue is a seized tub bearing 6-2040130. Once the bearing seizes to the race / sleeve on the transmission case, the motor cannot drive the spin basket, and the motor and or belt can smoke. To repair the washer you'll need the tub bearing assembly, the tub mounting stem 6-2095720, the spanner wrench TJ90TB123A, and check the new belt for damage.
