I ordered a new tempature switch for our Maytag electric dryer. Your parts list identified it as WPL 53-4395. The original is 53-3576. The original has 5 male electric tabs (two for resitor; three, 1 each for blue, yellow, and red wire). The new part (4395) has 6 tabs (two for resistor, 1 each for existing wiring, and one in on the right of center). The new one does not cause any heat to be produced no matter the position of the selector. Is the new one the right part? or is the wiring configuration different? I entered the original part no. in your date base and the part did not come up? By the way, I had already replaced the heating element and the high temp control with it.
Harlan for Model Number HYE3460AYW
ANSWER Hello Harlan. There are two temperature switches for the model number you provided. According to the information you provided, you have ordered the wrong switch. You will need to order 31001447 for the 5 terminal switch. Hope this helps.
