This Kenmore washer starts to fill with water, and reaches approximately 1/3 full before water starts flowing out of the drain (it may flow earlier, but the water level still rises). It doesn't seem to matter what water level (manual selection via knob) or cycle/water temp is chosen. It spins and pumps fine. We just purchased it used, and I'm wondering if I damaged something while moving it.
ANSWER Steve, The first thing to check is the heigth of the drain pipe. In order to hold the water in the tub properly, the top of the drain pipe must be 38 to 39 inches above the floor level. and make sure the end of the drain hose is not stuffed or sealed to the drain pipe.
