My whirlpool duet dryer turns on starts up. The drum will turn for about 7 seconds. Then stops turning. The dryer stays on and the heating element heats up. Then like a minute later the drum will turn again for like 7 seconds then stops once more. The dryer never shuts off the drum never spins again. The problems with the dryer started when the idler pulley went bad and it squeaked for awhile then this happened. I replaced the idler pulley/bracked and wheels. But not sure what this is.
ANSWER Hello Orrie,
You will want to check your belt to make sure that the belt is routed properly and not twisted. Also check to make sure that the felt seal is not in a bind causing excessive drag on the tumbler.
