Whirlpool Gold Accubake System Microwave (upper portion of unit/above oven) 2003 model just stopped heating items. It now makes a humming sound without heating things up. Can I fix it and what parts will I need. Thank you.

Don for Model Number GMC 305 PDQG SER# XP0406206

ANSWER Don, You will want to check the diode of the microwave to see if it is broken or blown. If the diode is bad it will cause a humming noise and no heat. Also check the resistance of the magnetron in which you should have less than .5 ohms resistance. Also check to make sure that the thermal fuse on the magnetron has continuity.
