The freezer gets too cold and the top is warm. The coils behind are full of ice.We have had this reaccuring problem. I have read many of your forum Q&A and still don't have the answers we need. This has been going on for the last two years. My husband checked the defrost heater with his meter and that was good. We bought the thermostat kit in March. We replaced that. The frezzer has frozen up twice sine then. I remember reading there could be threee things to check, but i don't remember what the third one is. Do I need to replace the heater, evaporator cord? Does the board need to be replaced? Do I need to replace the thermistor?
With the heater checking ok and the thermostat being replaced the control board would be the other part that would fail. The control board would need to be replaced.
