I replaced the thermostat in my Maytag oven with the one pictured above because the oven would heat up to only around 250 and then stop heating any further. I assumed it would be the thermostat but it is not, it continues to do the same thing. The burner on the bottom of the oven will light and burn normal at the beginning but will then die down when it hits 250 degrees or close to that. What else would cause this?
ANSWER Hello Mike. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the ignitor 74007498 may be weak and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
