Sometimes my dryer gets very warm and dries close reasonable well. Other times not getting hot at all. Does this indicate thermostat or heating element? Thanks
Dan for Model Number Whirlpool LDR3822hq1
ANSWER Dan, The first thing to do is run the dryer with the vent disconnected. You could have a restricted, clogged exhaust vent system causing the dryer to cycle on the hi limit safety thermostat. From there you could visually check all the wiring to all the thermostats and heater element for loose connections or damaged wires. But it's best to circuit check the components with a multimeter TJMA-DMT3 . The more likely situation is a bad hi limit thermostat or a loose or weak connection at the heater element. Good Luck and Thanks.
