Unit will not auto defrost. I can manully defrost and it will run until it needs defrosting again. The defrost thermostat was replaced in 2006. How can I check to see if it is the same problem? Where is it located in the unit?

ANSWER Hello Felix. You will need to test the heater 67001794 and the thermostat 12001937. They should read closed for continuity when cold. They are located behind the back wall inside the freezer, on the evaporator coils. If they are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer 67001036. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
