i have a problem . every 2 weeks i have to defrose my freezer becous i stop having airflow to my uper cabinet .
i have checked a heating element and he's ok .
i think it is a thermostat defrost .
my question is the data , in what temperature it is suposed to be open and in what temp. closed?
ANSWER Igal, Heres how the defrost thermostat works, With power off and evaporator coil below freezing, thermostat should show continuity when checked with ohmmeter. After defrost thermostat opens, thermostat remains open until end of defrost cycle and refrigerator starts cooling again. Defrost thermostat senses a preset low temperature and resets (closes). If your defrost thermostat checks proper, you'll need to consider the electronic control board 12784417 . Thanks and Good Luck
